Festivals & Fisticuffs

The adventure is over. The dragon is defeated. The dungeon is delved. All the storylines are satisfying concluded. The character growth has… grown as much as it needs to.

But then what? Are the players ready to truly finish? Or do they want more? Has the DM got another villain or tougher adventure ready in the wings? If either is true, do the heroes not catch a break before chaos rains anew?

What happens between the epic adventures? I have an answer to that. If you’re one of the first few people reading this post, you can scoop the answer up for free:

Festivals and Fisticuffs is a Dungeons & Dragons resource using the 5th Edition rules. This guide features 20 different games for characters to enjoy as downtime activities, including all the rules, descriptions, outcomes and variant rules for creating unique challenges for your players.

If your Dungeon Master is looking for a light-hearted break between harrowing encounters and near-death experiences, this guide has everything you need. If your desire is to add depth and delight to the towns and cities of the campaign world, these games can be combined into any arrangement to create a vibrant display of fantastical festivities.

These games work in almost any campaign setting, for characters at any level, and can fill 5 minutes or multiple sessions of your game. This works as a wonderful introduction for new players, as a well-earned respite between encounters, or the method by which a party is introduced to a brand new adventure.

Every one of the six major attributes is covered in this guide. Whether a character a high Constitution or superior Charisma, there is a game for everyone here.

Do you want even more festival fun? Festivals & Fisticuffs II: Family Fun is out now!

Have a Great Adventure!

  1. Hello there Rufus. I love this idea and it looks great. I’m trying to make an actual purchase but DTRPG is automatically setting the total to $0.00 in my cart when I do. I keep getting “Discount redeemed. Festivals & Fisticuffs has been added to your cart at a discounted price” even when I click the $1 button. I’ll keep an eye out and pick it up after you’ve passed out the free copies. Cheers!

      1. Hi Rufus. I checked back today and part one was still coming up as being free for me, so I went ahead and picked that up along with part 2, to show you a little support. I won’t have the time until the weekend but I’ll try to pop in there and leave a review for you as well. Both look super clever and I will certainly be able to put these to use.
