Fantastic Beasts and How to Slay Them: Bowtruckle

A bonus post for this week. I was planning to convert one Fantastic Beast into a D&D monster every week, but the Bowtruckle was an easy construction. A cute creature that has a great deal of charm in the movies, but its essentially a magical stick insect with slightly sharped claws:

Bowtruckle

Apart from making it stealthy in trees, I added the Sleight of Hand skill. A nod to Newt’s friends ability to pick locks. As with the Billywig, this little beast could potentially be summoned by a Conjure Animals spell.

I would also rule that this little guy could be summoned as a wizard’s familiar, but that’s just me.

Thank You For Reading

This is the shortest, simplest stat block I’ve written. Did I do the Bowtruckle justice? Or have a missed some incredibly power it holds?
