Fantastic Beasts and How to Slay Them: Kneazle

Last time it was a hedgehog-beast. This time we have a cat-beast. Definitely a low point on this fantastical rollercoaster, but don’t worry. This lion-tailed, super smart cat has got some useful tricks hiding away. This wouldn’t make much of a combat encounter, but the kneazle would make a great pet or wizard familiar.

Sneazle

Of all the available skills, ‘Insight’ is not a skill you normally see attached to a beast, which makes this little critter a useful ally. The kneazle’s ability to sense mischief makers could save the adventurers some hardships along the way.

The ability to retrace their way home could also be super useful. You could also create scenarios where the kneazle is essential to their survival. Have a labyrinth or winding dungeon that constantly shifts and changes, or describe a natural event that changes the landscape around them. Did they befriend that curious little cat on the roadside coming here? Yes? Well, now that little kitty is here to lead them to safety.
